While the debate still goes on whether Ram Charan Teja is the best choice to reprise the role of the seething cop that Amitabh Bachchan so very well immortalized in the 1973 film Zanjeer directed by Prakash Mehra, the Telugu star Ram Charan has already got the nod of approval from Big B.
On Sunday, Ram Charan Teja and director Apoorva Lakhia were shooting a sequence of Zanjeer at Film City. Nearby, Big B was also filming for a commercial. When Mr. Bachchan learnt of Zanjeer remake being shot in the same studio, he called up Lakhia.
Lakhia and Ram Charan Teja then visited Amitabh Bachchan. The trio were seen discussing animatedly, perhaps about the scenes in new Zanjeer. Big B seemed particularly curious to know how the 1973 classic that was his springboard to superstardom will be adapted to the new setting. The superstar is also learnt to have expressed his confidence in the acting skills of Ram Charan Teja.
“Just met AB sir ,took his blessings.. And NOW zanjeer begins..yay!!” Ram Charan Teja posted on his Twitter page.
