|Kim Kardashian stirred a hornet’s nest when she dissed Indian food and called it ‘disgusting’ in Sunday night's episode of the hit reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
In no time, the reality TV star was swamped with criticism from people from different quarters, mostly Indians, so much so that she was forced to issue a clarification which is also being made out as an ‘apology’ by the media.
This is what Kim Kardashian wrote on her blog under the headline Just Want To Clear Something Up....
“So on this week’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians I said that I thought Indian food was disgusting. In NO way was this intended as an insult to the Indian people or their culture. This is just my own personal taste. There are a lot of foods I don’t like… I hate cilantro and peppers, and there are definitely some Armenian foods that I personally find disgusting, but that doesn’t reflect my opinions on other Armenian people or my culture. My comment wasn’t intended to offend anybody. We all have our own opinions and tastes and I was simply expressing mine,” wrote Kim Kardashian.
The siren came under fire on Twitter for calling Indian food disgusting.
“I think its good Kim Kardashian doesn't like Indian food because that means she won't ever visit India and that in itself is a blessing,” tweeted @krishna_shah.
“Kim Kardashian & Kendall Jenner called Indian food 'so disgusting.' SERIOUSLY? You don't have to like it, don't be rude. #gianteyeroll,” added @jenannelias.
