Shahid Kapoor will turn action hero for Prabhu Deva

After many ifs and buts, Shahid Kapoor is finally doing Prabhu Deva’s film which is going to be an action thriller. Director Prabhu Deva has already decided the name of the film, his next after the blockbuster Rowdy Rathore.

Prabhu Deva is keen on doing more Bollywood films and for his next he wanted to have only Shahid Kapoor. The hit director was mighty impressed with the actor’s intense portrayal of his characters in Vishal Bharadwaj’s film Kaminey, and wants to give Shahid a mass entertaining image in his film.

Prabhu Deva’s next is titled Namak, and the project is based on the drug trade in Madhya Pradesh and will see Sasha doing hardcore action a la Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. Earlier, Shahid was skeptical about signing the film, and he did take some time to ponder over it, but ultimately he gave his nod. Moreover, Shahid bonded big time with Prabhu at a recently concluded award ceremony, making it easier for the actor to sign his film.

Shahid Kapoor also confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I am working with Prabhu Deva and it is a full on masala film.”

As for now, Sasha is very eager to see the feedback that he receives as Javed in the 1910 period of Teri Meri Kahaani as that is a character which is appealing to the masses. The movie is releasing this Friday, June 22.
