The sensation mongers have just been deprived their fix thanks to the averted encounter between Bollywood foes Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan.

It’s a small world and a still smaller group of well-wishers and friends -- and foes -- in Bollywood. Keeping one’s friends close, one can’t help feeling the enemies closer on a stray occasion or two. That occasion for one such encounter between Bollywood’s avowed foes Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan looked possible at Esha Deol’s wedding.

But now thanks to Shahrukh’s commitment to his family holiday and film shoot in London, the wedding of Esha Deol won’t see the star crossing paths with Salman.

As you must know, the bride’s mom Hema Malini is fond of both Shahrukh and Salman. If Shahrukh featured in her 1992 debut directorial film Dil Aashna Hai, Salman was the guest star in her last film Tell Me O Kkhuda. So it couldn’t be that Hema Malini not invite SRK and Sallu to the wedding of Esha Deol with Bharat Takhtani on June 29.

Salman Khan skipped the sangeet and mehendi ceremony due to his shoot for Dabangg 2, but made up for his absence by sending his bodyguard Shera to look after the security arrangements at Esha’s sangeet.

However, on Esha’s wedding day, Salman will personally attend the function and will also be there for the wedding reception.

Shahrukh Khan, on the other hand, is shooting for the Yash Raj film with Katrina Kaif in London and also holidaying with his kids and wife. So his presence at the wedding is ruled out.
