Critics slammed for negative reviews of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’
The reviews of the final installment of The Batman series have started trickling in. As The Dark Knight Rises is all set to hit the theatres this week, critics posting negative reviews of the Batman film, beware! Many have been flooded with a series of harsh comments including death threats sent by the fans.

Directed by Christopher Nolan and starring the Hollywood hunk Christian Bale as the mighty Batman, the movie, according to some of the critics, is a disappointment. The U.S. online film critic Marshall Fine came out with the first negative review of the film on his site Hollywood & Fine.

The critic was not kind to the film, calling it “tedious” and “lumpish” and even compared it to Michael Bay’s Transformers films. His review on Tuesday prompted the film’s score on review-aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes to fall below 100 per cent. Naturally, the fans of the comic-based film created a furore of sorts, lashing out at the critic. One fan wrote, that he will hit the critic “with a thick rubber hose into a coma”, while other threatened to set him on fire. As a result, Rotten Tomatoes disabled comments on The Dark Knight Rises reviews for some time.

Actually the expectations are huge from the film since it is pitted against its own predecessor The Dark Knight, released four years ago, which starred Heath Ledger as the villainous and powerful Joker and won him a posthumous Oscar.“Maybe nothing could have met the expectations established by 2008's "The Dark Knight," which revolutionized and set the standard for films based on comic books by being both high-minded and crowd-pleasing,” writes AP Movie Critic. The Dailymail UK critic writes that the movie is emotionally satisfying conclusion to the trilogy of Batman films, but is “humourless” and “too long”.

The Dark Knight Rises, however, has got mostly positive reviews, and fans can’t wait for Friday the 20th.
