|Shahrukh Khan is a wordsmith, all right. We concede after reading his translations of the Jab Tak Hai Jaan poem that was released with the first look of the movie.
The King Khan himself took the trouble of translating the verses penned by Aditya Chopra for Yash Chopra’s film starring SRK himself, apart from Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
“Will do my own english translation of the poem & update. Am glad most liked the title...i am getting used to it myself...Jab Tak Hai JAAN..” Shahrukh Khan wrote on Twitter and within a few hours he rustled up the first translation (presented above).
Must say we appreciate his sense for meter and rhyming in poesy. But the superstar wasn’t satisfied with just one translation. Soon he came up with a second one, a bit prosy, as he called it.
“a lil prosey...or is it prosy...??? whichever i hope u get the drift...” Shahrukh Khan wrote and shared his second translation (check the next page).
The superstar also asked his fans and followers to send him their translations of the Jab Tak Hai Jaan poem.
“Send me translations in your language and i will retweet it for others to read...aditya chopra's verses of love,” he wrote.
In no time, the translations started pouring in from the world over, translations in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Pashto, Farsi, Russian, Turkish, Gujarati, Urdu, Italian, Japanese, Dari, Portuguese, Kannada, Indonesian, Hungarian, Sindhi, Swedish, South African and Belarussian, you name it.
It’s a colourful riot of languages on Shahrukh Khan’s Twitter page.
