Call it a bizarre incident or dedication towards work, south siren Shweta Menon allowed cameras to shoot her baby’s delivery. The live footage of her baby coming into the world will feature in her forthcoming film Kalimannu, a Malayalam movie directed by Blessy.
As per reports, the actress gave birth to a baby girl at Nanavati Nursing Home in Mumbai under the spot lights. Actually the story of Shwetha's upcoming Malayalam film Kalimannu revolves around the life of a pregnant woman. Thus Shwetha’s initial months of pregnancy, the delivery and her first few months of motherhood will be a part of the film.
It’s learnt that to make the delivery look natural, director Blessy insisted on filming the live delivery to which Shwetha and her husband agreed. Three cameras were reportedly fixed in the operation theatre at 4.45 pm and the actress delivered the baby at 5.27 pm. The cameras kept rolling for about 45 minutes until the actress kissed the newborn on the forehead. Come to think of it, the first thing the baby got upon coming into this world is a movie role.
Shwetha Menon says that she wanted to prove that the birth of a child is like any other natural thing. She decided to do this because of the message the movie carries, and was determined to give a natural birth.
Where her career is concerned, Shwetha Menon has always taken some bold decisions. A Miss India 1994 runner up, she rose to fame with the famous Kamasutra condom advertisement, and is known for her films like Dorasani.
