Prakash Jha’s latest political thriller Chakravyuh is touted as a gritty commentary on the burning issue of naxalism in India. The song ‘Chheen Ke Lenge’ shows glimpses of this war between the state and the rebels.
Manoj Bajpayee plays the indomitable, fearless revolutionary Rajan leading a guerilla army of rebels against the state. He demands justice for his people and won’t stop at anything to ensure it. Abhay Deol plays a somewhat mysterious character named Kabir who is a rebel but also a very good friend of the courageous cop Adil Khan, played by Arjun Rampal. Adil is a cop who regards his duty and the rule of law as supreme.
The song ‘Chheen Ke Lenge’ shows the rebels and naxalites training in warfare tactics. The words of the song, penned by Irshad Kamil, are significant. “Jungle apna baap hai, nadiya apni maiyya, inko kissi ne jo chheena, daag denge hum seena.”
The song also features the shootouts between the police and the naxals. It has been spiritedly sung by Sukhwinder Singh and composed by Salim-Sulaiman.
