As you all know the team of 3 Idiots is coming together for a film, titled Peekay, starring Aamir Khan opposite Anushka Sharma. Director Rajkumar Hirani is going to be back on big screen after a hiatus with this movie. Everything was going fine until Akshay Kumar’s OMG! Oh My God released and became a blockbuster.
Now it’s learnt that the major portions of the Aamir Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer are being reworked because of the apparent similarities with the Akshay Kumar-Paresh Rawal film.
During an interview, Rajkumar Hirani was quoted saying, “Peekay is about God and godmen. It’s a satire that’s very close to me and Abhijat Joshi, who writes with me.” And this statement does ring a bell for those who have watched OMG, also a film on exploitative godmen and religious superstitions.
Insiders too have revealed that Rajkumar Hirani is redrafting parts of the script due to some striking similarities with OMG. Since Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani have invested a lot of time and energy in this film, they have decided to rework the script to make it look different.
Peekay is already delayed. First its shooting was stopped because of bad weather in Italy, and now the director is redoing the script. The film is expected to roll by December-end or January next year, say the sources.
Let’s see what the team of 3 Idiots has to offer this time to the audiences?
