Though Yash Chopra had finished shooting for his last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, one song was left to be shot in Switzerland, at Yash ji’s favourite Swiss Alps, with Katrina Kaif and Shahrukh Khan. Now, as the King of Romance is no more, the song has apparently been dropped from the film.

The movie Jab Tak Hai Jaan was special for Yash Chopra in many ways; first the film was to mark his return to direction after a hiatus of eight long years, and then Yash ji decided that JTHJ will be his last directorial venture as well. Alas! the quintessential Yash Chopra romance is without his trademark love song set amidst the greens and whites of the scenic Swiss Alps.

The song was supposed to be shot by the October-end, after getting delayed due to minor hiccups. But Yash Chopra fell ill and was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital where he was diagnosed with dengue. The entire unit of Jab Tak Hai Jaan was waiting for the recovery of Yash ji to resume the song, but fate had something else in store for the veteran, who succumbed to illness and died on October 21 due to multiple-organ failure.

As a source tells a daily, “No one wants to touch a single frame of the film. Jab Tak Hai Jaan has acquired a new significance now… But now with Yashji gone, adding anything in his absence will be inappropriate.”

It’s even learnt that Yash Chopra’s son Aditya Chopra was overseeing the romantic portions of the film, and would’ve accompanied his father to Switzerland where he wanted to can the song, but under these circumstances, adding anything to the film could be tampering with his vision, claim sources.

The reports also have it that now the entire profile of the marketing of Jab Tak Hai Jaan will change. What impact Yash ji’s death will have on the film? Was there anything he wanted to add or deduct in the movie which is still in post-production stages?

Manish Malhotra recently said that the maverick director discussed with him Katrina’s looks for the Swiss song. Yash Chopra was yet to shoot her in chiffon sari, like Sridevi, Rekha and Madhuri Dixit.
