Actor and comedian Jaspal Bhatti died in a road accident on Thursday. The 57-year-old actor was going to Jalandhar from Bhatinda to promote his film ‘Power Cut’ when the car skid off the road and rammed into a roadside tree.
The car was reportedly being driven by Bhatti’s son Jasraj. The film’s actress Surilie Gautam was also travelling with them. Jaspal Bhatti was taken to a private hospital in Jalandhar where he was reportedly declared brought dead on arrival by the doctors. Both Jasraj and Surilie were injured in the accident.
Jalandhar/Shahkot, Oct 25 (ANI): Film actor and comedian Jaspal Bhatti, died in a road accident on Thursday morning near Jalandhar.
The car in which the 57-year-old actor, director was travelling hit a roadside tree near Shahkot in Nakodar area of the district around 1 am. Bhatti was going to Jalandhar from Bhatinda for the promotion of his Punjabi film 'Power Cut' scheduled to be released on Friday.
Jaspal Bhatti, who was accompanied by his son, actress and promoter of his forthcoming Punjabi film 'Power Cut' scheduled to be released on Friday, Bhatti succumbed to his injuries; the three others have sustained major injuries and were rushed to the nearby hospital in Jalandhar.
Bhatti, became a household name with his shows - 'Ulta Pulta' and 'Flop Show' - on Doordarshan.
