|What do you get if you mix Chetan Bhagat’s humour with Salman Khan’s machismo? KICK.
Chetan Bhagat, India’s bestselling author, is ready to write screenplays for Bollywood films and his debut project would be the Salman Khan starrer Kick.
Kick is a remake of the 2009 Telugu blockbuster of the same title and though producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala has acquired the film’s remake rights, Chetan Bhagat has been roped in to modify the script, add his characteristic humour and punch, to make the film a treat for Bollywood fans.
Bhagat himself confirmed his screenplay debut.
“Happy to share with you that I'll be writing the screenplay of 'Kick' starring Salman Khan and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala. Kick is a about a guy who lives life only for his kicks, a powerful concept and a perfect recipe for a Salman-Nadiadwala blockbuster. Have known both Salman and Sajid Nadiadwala for a while and been wanting to work with them. Couldn't have asked for a better screenplay debut,” Bhagat tweeted.
The writer also added that he would make changes in the Hindi remake.
“Will be adapting Kick from original Telugu superhit, with fair amount of changes as well. Huge expectations, need all ur support! Thanks!” he added.
Kick was earlier to be directed by Shirish Kunder but the director bowed out after the poor opening of Joker and said that he felt Sajid Nadiadwala was the best person to direct the flick.
