|American reality TV star Kim Kardashian got serious backlash for posting a pro-Israeli comment on her Twitter account, so much so she was forced to delete the tweets.
The situation in Gaza and Israel is tense, and has caught the whole world’s attention. So when Kim Kardashian wrote on Twitter a message that sounded pro-Israeli, she faced a lot of flak from her fans and followers.
"Praying for everyone in Israel," Kim K wrote.
According to PTI, within minutes of this post, Kim K faced a barrage of abusive comments.
"You are a disgrace to your people and your ancestors," a follower tweeted, referring to her Armenian origin.
"People like you are the reason I want to die Palestine," another said.
Others tweeted, "Kill yourself", "Die in Hell," I will pray you will die kim."
"Further enhancing your reputation as a dumb porn star."
Kim Kardashian, however, was quick to add a pro-Palestine tweet as well.
She wrote: "And praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world."
Later, she deleted both the tweets and explained the reason for doing so on her website.
“I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize,” Kim said.
“I should have pointed out my intentions behind these tweets when I posted them. The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didn't choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution. I also pray for all the other people around the world who are caught in similar crossfires,” she added.
Kim Kardashian had earlier faced criticism for calling Indian food ‘disgusting’.
