Guess what? Former flames and now mutually cordial well-wishers Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor find themselves set for a box office clash later this year.
The ex-lovers will find themselves competing for footfalls at theatres on August 23 when their respective films Satyagraha, starring Kareena Kapoor, and Phata Poster Nikla Hero, starring Shahid Kapoor, will release. The clash isn’t planned at all, but has inadvertently been set after Prakash Jha decided to postpone his film Satyagraha from August 15 to a week later when Shahid’s film was already booked for release.
We hear Prakash Jha decided to postpone his film after learning of Subhash Ghai’s plan to release his ambitious film Kaanchi… on August 15. Ghai is very excited about Kaanchi and has roped in a newcomer named Mishti from Kolkata for the film. The male lead in the film is Kartik Tiwari, who was last seen in Akaash Vani.
Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor were last seen together in the film Milenge Milenge which was shot before Jab We Met but released much later. The two have not worked since then and have even avoided each other in public. Yes, they have never badmouthed each other and we hope this mutual cordiality will continue when their films hit theatres in August this year.
