The first trailer of the film has all the fun ingredients that make a comedy a masala Bollywood caper. Straightaway, we are introduced ek seedha ladka -- Ali Zafar. Then comes Tapsee Pannu -- ek phataka haseena. The trailer further shows do kamine dost, played by Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma of Pyaar Ka Punchnama fame.
Chashme Baddoor, just like the original, is about friendship and love, but is contemporized. The remake has been re-written by the original director, Sai Paranjpye, along with David Dhawan. Ali Zafar reprises the role of the simple and sweet Farookh Shaikh in the movie, while Siddharth steps into Ravi Vaswani's shoes, and Divyendu Sharma essays the role of Rakesh Bedi in the remake. However, their character sketches differ from the original. If Siddharth is loud and a bit show-off, filmi boy, Divyendu is a poet who enjoys reciting silly poems.
All the three actors are amazing in the trailer, and especially notable is the sequence when Tapsee Pannu asks Ali Zafar, “kya dekh rahe ho?”, and he replies, “tumhari lipstick… because I want to stick to your lips.” On par is the scene where Siddharth explains Tapsee why she needs to wear a swimsuit for his film. The trailer also has some cool, witty dialogues like, “When you can’t change the girl, change the girl.”
The movie races to the theatre on April 5. Here is the ‘fun’tastic trailer of Chashme Baddoor:
