Sanjay Dutt is not be able to promote his film Policegiri as he’s serving his sentence at Pune’s Yerawada Jail, but he may watch the film with the inmates.
Ironically, in the film Sanjay Dutt plays a hardened cop who uses all means soft and hard to bring the criminals to book.
The 53-year-old actor has now been incarcerated in Yerawada Jail for more than a month and is being treated on par with other inmates.
Producer Rahul Agarwal plans to bring some cheer to Sanju by screening Policegiri for him and other Yerawada inmates.
“Yes, we were told that the inmates are allowed one movie screening each month. We hope we get permission soon,” Agarwal is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
‘Policegiri’ hits theatres this Friday. The film also stars Prakash Raj and Prachi Desai. Sanjay Dutt worked extra shifts to wrap up the film’s shoot and dubbing in the days preceding his surrender to the court mid-May. The actor is serving three-and-a-half-years behind bars for his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts case.
