|Akshay Kumar’s sleek don act in the upcoming film Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara! has caught the eye of the celebrated Hollywood actor Al Pacino, famous for playing the godfather Michael Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola’s cult classic The Godfather series.
Pacino is said to have watched the promo of OUATIMD and Akshay’s cool act as a don reminded him of his Godfather days.
Al Pacino is quoted as saying, “My friend Barry Navidi showed me a promo of an Indian film with Akshay Kumar. It brought some fond memories back from my Godfather days.”
Pacino worked in two Godfather movies in the 1970s and the third part in 1990. His performance as a reluctant don who rises to be the head of the Corleone crime syndicate is among the best of his career.
No wonder, Akshay Kumar is thoroughly pleased by the compliment from Pacino.
Akshay is quoted as saying, “A touch of appreciation is always held dearly by an actor, even if it's from the simplest of people like our beloved spot boys. But to have your work spoken of so kindly by the world's most admired 'gangster' Pacino himself, I had goosebumps thinking about him watching the promo.”
Slated to release on August 15, Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! has Akshay playing Shoaib, a don with few scruples, who falls for a pretty starlet played by Sonakshi Sinha.
The film is directed by Milan Luthria who’s no less pleased to know that Al Pacino has liked the promo of the film.
