He doesn’t want to restrict himself to the conventional roles. The new ‘it’ boy of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor also wants to break the stereotypes by doing films like Roy -- a thriller, directed by his childhood-friend Vikramjit Singh.
But, what about the rumours that say the movie has him in a cameo role? Contrary to such reports, sources claim that Ranbir Kapoor has shot for the movie for 45 days.
“Ranbir has given 45 days for the shooting in ‘Roy’. So you decide if that qualifies as a guest appearance. Arjun Rampal has more-or-less the same number of dates,” a source is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
It is learnt that Ranbir Kapoor was eager to have Arjun Rampal on board for the film. The two got along really well during the making of Raajneeti and wanted to work together since then.
The movie Roy has the two actors in pivotal roles as it is a “two-hero” project. There’s also a love triangle between Arjun, Ranbir and Jacqueline Fernandez. It’s said that the dramatic conflict between Arjun and Ranbir is like Rishi Kapoor and Rakesh Roshan’s equation in Aap Ke Deewane (1980), but Roy is very different story-wise. Producer Bhushan Kumar also confirms the reports.
Roy revolves around a murder mystery, and Ranbir Kapoor plays a brooding thief in the movie, one who helps in cracking the case. Arjun plays Kabir, and Jacqueline Fernandez, who will be seen in a double role, essays Ayesha.
