Director Tigmanshu Dhulia is a name to reckon with. So a lot of hopes were pinned to his most commercial film to date, Bullet Raja. Alas, the film hasn’t lived up to its box office expectations.
For a film featuring top stars like Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha a Rs 20.50 crore weekend is clearly below the mark. Mind you, we’ve seen films like Chennai Express and Krrish 3 minting over Rs. 30 crore in a single day. So the opening day of Rs. 6.50 crore net for 'Bullett Raja' was clearly not up to par.
The business growth remained flat on the first two days with Saturday too notching around Rs. 6.50 crore. It was Sunday that saw a marginal rise with the day’s collection of Rs. 7.50 crore.
'Bullett Raja' has done well in Rajasthan and UP, but the same can’t be said of the collections in Delhi and Mumbai. The two cities often account for a lion's share in any movie’s collections.
Another downer for the movie is that this Friday would see the release of R… Rajkumar, which is already riding high on buzz and its promos are looking very good.
