Hottie Sherlyn Chopra has every reason to be elated. Her upcoming starrer Kamasutra 3D is in Oscar race to clinch nominations in as many as three categories.
The film’s director Rupesh Paul has said that Kamasutra 3D (watch trailer here) is in contention at the coming 86th Academy Awards in Original Song, Original Score and Best Motion Picture categories. Five songs from the film -- titled ‘Aygiri Nandini’, ‘Saawariya’, ‘I Felt’, ‘Of Soil’ and ‘Har Har Mahadeva’ -- are said to be competing with around 70 other entries for a nomination.
The songs are composed by Chennai-based music directors, Sachin and Sreejith. Lyrics are penned by Rupesh Paul and Pratyush Prakash.
So far, only A R Rahman from India has won in the Best Song and the Best score categories at the Oscars for his compositions in Danny Boyle’s film Slumdog Millionaire.
What more, Kamasutra 3D starring Sherlyn Chopra is also in the race for a nomination in the Best Motion Picture category.
Filmmaker Rupesh Paul is hopeful of the movie making a mark at the Oscars. He says that the acceptance of the film as an entry at the Oscars goes to show that Kamasutra 3D is not a soft-porn film as is the common perception among a lot of people whose imaginations have been fired by the hot clip of frontal nudity released by Sherlyn Chopra.
