Dhoom 3 has been on a record shattering spree ever since its release. With the completion of its first week at the box office, the film has notched the highest collection ever for any Bollywood film in its first week at the Indian box office.
Rs. 188.98 crore. Yes, that is the film’s first week collection at domestic box office. It is an unprecedented figure for any film. Normally, the lifetime business of many Bollywood blockbusters is in this ballpark, and even the films that have gone past have done so in many more days than 'Dhoom 3' took.
The film starring Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif raked in Rs. 25.52 crore net on Christmas holiday (all Hindi, Tamil, Telugu versions) and added another Rs. 14.01 crore on Thursday to take its first week tally to Rs. 188.98 crore net at the Indian box office.
A lion’s share of this figure comes from the Hindi version, while the Tamil and Telugu versions account for around Rs. 10 crore only.
ApunKaChoice expects Dhoom 3 to enter the 200 crore club (domestic) this weekend. Meanwhile, since there is no major competition from either Bollywood or Hollywood, the film is going to have a solid run in its second week too.
