Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3 has become the second highest Bollywood grosser ever by going past Chennai Express in its ten-day run at the box office.
Just to give you the bearings, Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express enjoyed the coveted spot of the second highest earner in Bollywood history with a lifetime collection of Rs. 227.13 crore. But now, it has slid to the third spot, as Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 has sped past it with a ten-day collection of Rs. 227.83 crore nett from Indian box office only.
After the Rs. 199.08 crore net business till Friday, the film added another Rs. 12.04 crore on Saturday and Rs. 16.71 crore on Sunday to take the total tally to Rs 227.83 crore. And the film’s still not done pulling footfalls to theatres.
So in the coming days, ApunKaChoice expects 'Dhoom 3' to also overtake Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3, which is presently the highest all-time grosser with a collection of Rs. 244 crore.
The real challenge for Dhoom 3 is to touch the Rs. 300 crore mark. It’s still a toss-up whether or not the film will hit that historic milestone at the box office.
