|The star comedian of TV Kapil Sharma has been waiting for quite some time now for his Bollywood debut. The actor has finally been signed as the lead by the prestigious Yash Raj banner for one of their upcoming films.
Yes, you read it right, Kapil Sharma will play the lead in a movie titled Bank Chor, to be produced by Y-Films, a subsidiary of Yash Raj Films.
Y-Films has announced the collaboration on Twitter as well as on Facebook, “Woohoo, we're super excited... Kapil Sharma makes his feature film debut as the lead of Y-Films' next, "BANK-CHOR”
Kapil Sharma is on cloud nine after signing the project which will mark his entry into Bollywood. “It’s a privilege and a dream to be part of the YRF family and have my launch with their Youth Films Studio, Y-Films. The script is the most exciting part since it’s the kind of role that’s very unlike the stereotype of a comedian or what people could typecast me as,” Kapil Sharma said in a statement.
In the past, the comedian-actor was even in the talks with Sohail Khan for his movie Sher Khan. Unfortunately, the movie was put on the backburner, and Kapil Sharma’s dream of being in Bollywood remained unfulfilled until now.
It’s learnt that Bank Chor is going to be a thriller drama with a lot of scope for comedy.
