But Akshay Kumar loves connecting with foreigners for a deeper reason – to learn about their culture and language and thereby broaden his horizon.
“I like connecting with foreigners, understanding their language. It's not enough for me any more to speak Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi and English. I want to know foreign languages. The only way for me to grow as an actor is to broaden my horizon,” Akshay is quoted by a news agency as saying.
The actor recently came back from a month-long holiday with family in Puerto Rico. While there, he learnt a few words and phrases of Spanish which he now practices regularly while speaking to his family.
Meanwhile, the actor isn’t happy with the critics over negative reviews of Kambakkht Ishq, which is emerging as the biggest hit of 2009. According to Akshay, the critics slammed the movie for what they called “vulgar” and “offensive” humour, but the actor feels that the comedy in the film is in good taste.
