|The queues on the ticket windows of theatres showing 3 Idiots are unending and Aamir Khan, who’s known to get nervous before the release of his every film, is heaving a sigh and beaming a broad smile nowadays.
The post-release controversy apart, the hard work the team of Aamir-Rajkumar Hirani-Vidhu Vinod Chopra put in, particularly Aamir’s unique but tiring publicity campaign throughout India, is paying back rewards in spades, and the perfectionist Khan is now allowing himself the luxury of a break.
“Right now, I am going to take a two-months’ off. After that, I will start reading scripts that appeal me as an actor or director. If I like something, I'll do that. But whether it’s acting or directing, I don't know,” Aamir told reporters in Kolkata recently.
While it’s not clear if Aamir’s next project would have him directing or acting, he would certainly be seen in a hatke role in wife Kiran Rao’s film Dhobi Ghat later in 2010.
“Dhobi Ghat's shooting is complete. Post-production is going on. We will release it in the last half of 2010…There are four lead roles and I am one of them. I have enjoyed working with Kiran. She is a creative director and Kiran has got what she wanted,” Aamir said.
Apart from Aamir, the movie also stars Prateik Babbar.
It is learnt that Aamir plays a painter in the film.
