Actor-director Feroz Khan lost his battle to cancer last year before fulfilling his last wish to remake his 1980 runaway hit Qurbani. Now, Fardeen Khan is rolling up his sleeves to fulfill his late dad’s final wish.
And we hear that none other than Shahrukh Khan will play a pivotal role in the modern remake.
Though Fardeen did not elaborate on SRK’s role in the film, he did confirm his plans to remake ‘Qurbani’ while speaking to reporters recently.
“My father's last wish was a remake of 'Qurbani'. And, now after his death, this project is very close to my heart. I want to give it the best possible opportunity as it is a part of Hindi film history,” the 35-year-old actor said.
Fardeen is under no illusion that matching the magic of ‘Qurbani’ would be a tough task. The film, starring Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman and Amjad Khan, was an instant hit at the box office and its song are played to this day.
“The least one needs to do is to equal it. I want to give the remake a lot of time. If I can't make it better, I would like to equal it at least,” Fardeen said.
