Jacqueline Fernandez’s feet have hardly been touching the ground lately. The beautiful actress from Sri Lanka who has made Mumbai her second home is ecstatic that the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend and awards is being held this year in Sri Lankan capital Colombo from June 3 to 5.
“This is just not any award function for me because I am a Sri Lankan and everyone from the film fraternity is actually coming to Sri Lanka. So for me it's like a chance to welcome the people who have welcomed me (in Bollywood) so warmly,” Jacqueline said in an interview.
Jacqueline will be actively taking part in the three-day event.
She’ll be seen walking the ramp during the IIFA fashion extravaganza.
“I will be the showstopper for a local (Sri Lankan) designer Yoland and will be walking the ramp for Manish Malhotra,” Jacqueline said.
Jacqueline will also be supporting the IIFA charity cricket match between Bollywood teams and Sri Lankan team.
“I will support Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lankan captain). He is a buddy and I will support his team,” she said.
But the most dazzling of all will be Jacqueline’s performance at the IIFA awards show. Jacqueline has so far worked in two Bollywood movies (Aladin and Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai) but she won’t perform to songs from those films at the award show.
“I am going to perform with a Sri Lankan dance troupe. Being a Sri Lankan, I want to do the opening numbers, I want to do the welcome number and want to perform with Sri Lankan dancers,” Jacqueline revealed.
The glitterati in Bollywood have already started packing their bags to fly to Colombo for IIFA.
