Why Aamir Khan didn't want to do '3 Idiots'?
The actor had his apprehensions

Everything, except one, pleased Aamir Khan about 3 Idiots. The movie had a theme with an appeal for the youth and a message about the education system. The script shaped up well and the cast ensemble too was near perfect.

But one thing had Aamir in two minds. He wasn’t very excited about the prospect of working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra who has quite a reputation of being a finicky producer.

However, while filming ‘3 Idiots’, Aamir realized that he was wrong about Chopra.

At the unveiling of the first look of '3 Idiots' in Mumbai, Aamir told mediapersons: “During the course of making of the film, I realised that my apprehensions were unfounded. Everybody has certain impressions about the other person even before knowing or meeting him and I realised this.”

Aamir also revealed that he was excited to work with director Raju Hirani, nonetheless.

“I had no problems with Hirani and was eager to work with him. In fact, I was dying to work with Hirani after Lage Raho Munnabhai,” Aamir said.

Loosely based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestselling novel ‘Five Point Someone’, ‘3 Idiots’ has Aamir playing Rancho who prompts his two friends (Madhavan and Alok Sharman Joshi) to not kowtow to the grueling academic atmosphere of a premier technology institute but balance fun with studies. Kareena Kapoor plays Aamir’s love interest.

The film is slated for release on Christmas.
