Among the few filmmakers in Bollywood who haven’t turned their backs on the rape accused actor Shiney Ahuja is his mentor Sudhir Mishra. The director is giving all moral support to the actor, presently out on bail in a rape case, and is even changing the script of his next film Hitman so that Shiney’s image is not tarnished.
In the movie, Shiney was originally supposed to play a hitman. Now, his character has been changed to a repentant hitman who looks back on all his violent crimes the day he learns he’s going to die.
“We will certainly not show him in a light that will hamper his case or image,” Mishra is quoted as saying.
The director has reportedly asked his writer Vinitesh to shape up Shiney’s character so that it doesn’t tarnish the actor’s image in any way.
Mishra feels it is the responsibility of Shiney’s friends and well-wishers in the industry to welcome him back because he’s yet to be proved guilty by law.
Ashok Pandit is another filmmaker who has come out in full support of Shiney.
Shiney is presently busy completing his pending film Ek Accident which was 95 percent complete when he was arrested on charges of raping his domestic maid earlier this year. Now, Shiney will shoot the remaining portions, some of them with Soha Ali Khan, who is said to be reluctant to shoot with the actor.
