Masaba gets Vivian, Neena together |
She has established her name as one of India’s most promising new designers - Masaba Gupta, the talented daughter of cricketer Vivian Richards and Neena Gupta showcased her collection on day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week. And both her parents attended the show.
Sir Vivian Richards and Neena Gupta had a brief relationship in the eighties. The duo separated and was never seen together, but it was their pretty daughter Masaba’s wish to have both her parents at her fashion show. So, everyone was surprised to see the ace West Indies cricketer making a public appearance at the gala Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2011 in Mumbai.
While talking to the press, Sir Viv Richards said, “Masaba has our genes. She is bound to be talented!”
Masaba has always been with her mother Neena and also carries her mother’s maiden name; she now features as one of the established designers on LFW designer list. She recently opened her flagship store in Mumbai and has an elite clientele. Her collection at LFW 2011 is called ‘Straight from my soil’ and it is inspired by the Masai tribes of Tanzania.
This year Masaba is thinking of concentrating more on styling for movies. Way to go girl! |
