From Brazil to India |
“What??? The role of Harleen Kaur has been played by a Brazilian?” This was the first reaction we all gave when we learnt that Giselle Monteiro, who played Harleen Kaur in Love Aaj Kal, is a Brazilian model.
It is after years of struggle in Mumbai that one gets a break in Bollywood, but Giselle has a different story altogether. Born in 1988, she began her modeling career at the age of 17. In 2008, Giselle landed in Mumbai. And guess what? In 2009 she featured opposite Saif Ali Khan in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal! Now that’s what you call a dream debut.
The fairytale doesn’t end here! Giselle’s second movie Always Kabhi Kabhi is all set to release this Friday. The film has been produced by Shahrukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment.
