Happy Marriage
The D-Day has finally come. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are going to get married today, October 16, five years after they started dating each other. It’s been a long, steady, romantic relationship that deserves a look back.
The biggest wedding of the year is here. It may, however, not have the pomp and show of a big fat Bollywood wedding because both Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have settled for a registered marriage followed by a nikah and wedding reception. Kareena would wear the same lehenga that Sharmila Tagore wore on her wedding about 40 years ago. The lehenga is being re-embellished by Bebo’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra. On the other hand, fashion designer Raghavendra Rathore has created a Benarasi brocade 'achkan' for Saif. The outfit has been designed after taking references from Mansoor Ali Khan’s wardrobe.
A LOVE STORY
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor began dating in 2007. Talking about how she fell for Saif, Kareena revealed in an interview: “We were in Ladakh to shoot Tashan. I had just broken up with Shahid Kapoor. Even though I had met Saif socially, we hadn’t spoken much. When I spotted him near the hotel pool, he was tanning on a lounge chair, clad in just jeans. I told my friend, “Oh my God… he’s so hot!...After our first shot, we chatted and he made me laugh a lot. I hope it always stays that way. Today, we are best friends. I hope marriage only adds to what we share.”
Not just this, Kareena also spoke about how Saif met her mother to talk about the relationship.
“So, he came and met my mother and told her, ‘She’s my woman, I want to spend the rest of my life with her. We want to live together…’ My mom was pretty cool about it. I just got my stuff together and that was it. No fuss,” Kareena said.
When asked about the moment Saif Ali Khan said those three words “I Love You” to her, Kareena responded: “Actually, he never really said it… he isn’t that romantic,”
