Manish Arora is already seen by some as a sort of a pariah, a renegade designer who’s now mostly focused on presenting his collections in fashion’s capital Paris. Seeing him present his creations on an Indian ramp after a gap of three years was surely a pleasant trip.

Denouncing the typical Indian idea of couture (often synonymized as bridal wear), Manish Arora presented a handpicked collection of his best works showcased at Paris Fashion Week for the past 5 years. Expectedly, one got to see trendy outfits, almost bordering on zany, with psychedelic colours and edgy style.

The collection consisted of ultra-feminine skirts, streamlined pencil skirts, cigarette pants and trendy tops with a lot of embellishments and embroidery. No wonder the likes of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry include Arora’s clientele.

The designer has been a regular at Paris Fashion Week for seven years now and is a name to reckon with in the fashion markets of London, Hong Kong and Miami.

Despite eyeing international market, Manish Arora says he still draws his inspiration from India.
