The small-budget film may not boast of big names, but the trailer says it all. Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is a quirky tale of a middle-class Punjabi joint family that used to own a dhaba famous for its yummy chicken curry. Now the son of the family, played by Kunal Kapoor, wants to open it again, but without the famed delicacy Chicken Khurana, the eatery can’t be a going concern. The only person who knows the secret recipe is Daarji, and the old man suffers from memory loss. All hell breaks loose when he suddenly dies, without passing down the recipe of Chicken Khurana. Now what?
The trailer perfectly introduces the oddballs of the film. Be it Bhule bisre Daarji, Khotte da Puttar Omi or Sant Bua ji. Starlet Huma Qureshi will be seen playing a doctor, who falls in love with the character of Kunal Kapoor. Costume designer-actress Dolly Ahluwalia, last seen as the firebrand Punjabi lady in Vicky Donor, is also in the film. She plays Bua ji and looks amazing in the trailer. Coming to the main lead Kunal Kapoor, the actor is making a new beginning with this film, and does leave an impression.
The film’s USP is of course Chicken Khurana, but unfortunately the audiences can’t taste it. Anyway, this film is touted as Bollywood’s first food movie, and is said to be inspired from the Malayalam film Salt N' Pepper.
Hope Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana has a perfect recipe for a delectable comedy. Catch here some stills from the film, and yes also the trailer.
