Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are now man and wife. The two exchanged wedding vows in a registered marriage held at Saif’s residence in suburban Bandra on Tuesday.
Surprisingly, both Saif and Kareena were quite plainly dressed for a wedding. While Saif wore grey kurta-pyjama, Kareena was dressed in a green Manish Malhotra suit with red dupatta. She had the red bangles on, quite typical of a Punjabi bride.
The registered marriage wasn’t a long winded affair. Saif's mother and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore signed as a witness from the groom's side. From the bride’s side, Kareena's mother Babita and father Randhir Kapoor signed as witnesses.
When clicked by photographers, the newlyweds smiled and waved their hands. Saif looked calm and happy. Kareena looked joyous and couldn’t stop smiling.
Saif Ali Khan, 42, and Kareena Kapoor, 32, are now gearing up for a ‘nikah’ and a wedding reception. The two have dated for five years and their relationship is never known to have hit a bump. Kareena Kapoor’s father Randhir Kapoor said he would have loved to marry Kareena in a lavish wedding but it was her wish that the wedding be a low-key affair. Contrary to rumours, Kareena has not converted to Islam before the wedding. So, it’s an inter-religious marriage and we hope it to be strong and last long.
