For all those curious fans and fashionistas, here’s Kareena Kapoor’s look from the big day. Trust us the new Begum was a sexy bride in a Manish Malhotra bridal ensemble in red. Though there are no official pictures from the wedding reception available, thankfully there is one photograph of Kareena that Manish posted on a social networking site.
After a registered marriage on October 16, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor exchanged wedding vows at Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba on October 17. The event was followed by a lavish party attended by the family members and the close friends including some industrywallahs.
As reported earlier, during the exchange of vows, Kareena was dressed in the ancestral gharara, belonging to Saif Ali Khan’s grandmother, and worn by mom-in-law Sharmila Tagore on her own wedding. But for the after party, that is the reception, Kareena changed to a Manish Malhotra lehenga choli in burgundy red. MM had already hinted that Bebo will be seen in red, because she loves the colour.
Manish Malhotra even tweeted about Kareena, “After the vows for the wedding party change into outfit made by me :-)”
As you can see, the dress is elegant with intricate thread work in gold on the border, paired with a sleeveless ornate choli, leaving the midriff bare. The heavy choker with emeralds and diamonds was a wow piece. The neat bun completed her traditionally sensuous look as a bride on her wedding reception.
