The Lone Ranger
The Lone Ranger is all set to release in the US on 3 July. When the first look of the film was revealed quite a many months back, Johnny Depp’s fans wondered why the actor plays Tonto, the second lead in the movie, and not The Lone Ranger played by Armie Hammer.
In a video interview, Johnny Depp discourses on his role in The Lone Ranger; the actor makes an interesting revelation. He says: “As kids, you play Cowboys and Indians, and, you know, never once did I want to be the Cowboy, I wanted to be the Indian.” Johnny Depp’s zany look for The Lone Ranger has also created a lot of buzz. While some believe his getup in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was better, others consider his American Indian spirit warrior look wackier and his best guise to date.
Depp reveals in the interview how during a lunch he surprised his producer Jerry Bruckheimer with this unconventional look. The actor recalls: “Had a lunch with Jerry in the office and I was like ‘Hey, I wanna show you these things (pictures)’. He was looking at them and was like ‘My God, these are killers, great, wonderful. Who is it?’ I said ‘it’s me, man! It’s me.’”
