Jadoo Ki Jhappi
Bollywood bump and grind is not everyone’s cup of tea. And though Jacqueline Fernandez has shown her nifty footplay in films before, the Ramaiya Vastavaiya item ‘Jadoo Ki Jhappi’ was just out of her league.
The Sri Lankan beauty candidly admits that she had a hard time living up to the expectations of the choreographer Prabhu Deva, the man who’s choreographed the likes of Madhuri Dixit, Shahid Kapoor and, recently, Sonakshi Sinha.
So Jacqueline had her apprehensions before signing in for the song.
“I was apprehensive to do the song as I had not done an earthy song before. It was out of my comfort zone. But when I heard the song I liked it. Also it was an opportunity to dance with Prabhu Deva which I couldn't let go,” Jacqueline Fernandez told reporters while launching the song ‘Jadoo Ki Jhappi’ in Mumbai.
The 28-year-old also recalled how difficult it was to please Prabhu Deva.
“A day before we shot for the song, I showed it (the dance moves) to him... He was not happy and felt it was robotic. He told me to add heart and soul to the song, so I kept rehearsing,” Jacqueline added.
Ramaiya Vastavaiya is directed by Prabhu Deva and introduces producer Kumar Taurani’s son Girish Kumar opposite Shruti Haasan.
