Hello Brother is an entertaining movie with the typical Bolywood masala to make audiences laugh and come out of theatres singing Hey, Hata Sawan Ki Ghata.
Hero (Salman Khan) is an ambitious and fun-loving guy who has a zest for life in spite of his impoverished and orphaned childhood. He works for a courier company, whose owner is Khanna (Shakti Kapoor).
Hero loves Ranee (Ranee Mukherjee) whom he has grown up with and who lives in the same basti. But Ranee, who works as a nursery teacher regards Hero as nothing more than a dear friend and confidante. Her dream man is Vishal Singh (Arbaaz Khan) a top officer from Delhi Narcotics Division, who's recently been transferred to Mumbai to combat the drug situation here.
Vishal's investigations lead him to Khanna's courier company, which is being used as a front for an illegal drug business.
But Hero is oblivious of the shadowy dealings and staunchly defends his boss when Vishal confronts him. Now Vishal suspects Hero as well.
Predictably, Khanna reveals his true evil colors and shoots both Hero and Vishal.
What happens next is what makes the movie such a comedy? Whose queen of hearts is Ranee really? To know all this you need to watch Hello Brother.
Rani Mukherjee looks enchanting but she seems to be getting rather plump. That should be a matter of concern for her fans. (She has realized this and has shed weight fast after this film). Salman Khan seems to be maturing as a romantic comedian. His real life brother, Arbaz Khan, seems to be getting typecast as a tough-looking-never-smiling guy.
Like their earlier home production , this film too has good music. Sar Se Jo Sarki and Hata Sawan Ki Ghata are hummable songs and have been shot well.
