Ramesh Sippy-produced Kuch Naa Kaho has Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan teaming up on reel for the second time.
The film has Abhishek playing the young American Indian who doesn't care a hoot for the traditional idea of arranged marriage. Yet he is being forced to meet a number of girls to select one as his prospective bride.
Raj (Abhishek) is a suave New Yorker who lives with his mother, Dr. Malhotra [Suhasini Mulay]. Although there is close intimacy between the mother-son duo, the two don't speak in same voices when it comes to the issue or Raj's marriage.
Raj is a modern man and doesn't believe in arranged marriages. On a visit to India for his cousin's wedding, Raj's maternal uncle [Satish Shah] emotionally blackmails him into agreeing to arrange meetings with eligible girls.
The responsibility to introduce Raj to these girls is given to Namrata [Aishwarya Rai], Raj's uncle's favorite employee at his design studio. Namrata has already been at the receiving end of Raj's antagonism and now she is out to settle the score with him
After a series of meetings with potential brides, it becomes apparent to Namrata that finding a match for this particular suitor is a nightmare and an attempt in vain.
However, in this futile exercise, there come moments when Raj and Namrata feel deep connection with each other. But they stay mum.
So here is the story of a guy who is looking for his dream woman, not knowing that she might just be standing by his side. And here is the story of girl who has a beautiful heart but hasn't found her perfect mate yet.
