Megastar Mohanlal’s forthcoming flick ‘Rasathantram’ has several firsts. It is the first time Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine have acted together.
Then, Mohanlal and director Sathyan Anthicad have joined hands after more than a decade.
‘Rasathantram’ also brings together three National Award winning actors: Mohanlal, Meera Jasmine and Bharat Gopi! What more can you ask for?
So, ‘Rasathantram’ is already being billed as a movie
to look forward to.
Another first is that Mohanlal is playing a carpenter in this film, which is being shot in the picturesque locales of Idukki district in Kerala.
Carpenter Premachandran (Mohanlal) is an honest do-gooder. The problems he faces when he intervenes on behalf of a poor maidservant Kanmani (Meera Jasmine) form the theme of the film.
Of course, like all Sathyan Anthicad films, ‘Rasathantram’ too is a judicious blend of comedy and tragedy. Bharat Gopi is playing Mohanlal’s father in the movie, music of which has been scored by veteran Ilayaraja.
Alagappan is in charge of the camera work while Sathyan Anthicad himself has penned the screenplay.
The film, produced by Antony Perumbavoor, is scheduled to release on April 14. It’s Sathyan’s Vishu gift for the Keralites.
