After having won the coveted Graviera Mr India title, Aryan Vaid is all geared up to step under the arc lights of the tinseltown. As he has confessed, he always wanted to be an actor. He has been doing theatre for quite sometime and now he is getting offers for films.
It usually takes a long time for models to move beyond the ramps and make their place in Bollywood. Moreover, many male models have been labeled as ‘wooden actors’, with little aptitude for acting. But Aryan Vaid seems to have learnt his lessons in advance.
Unlike other models who get busy doing ads and music videos after winning any contest, Aryan has decided to take a deep plunge into the celluloid world. And, to belie the predictions of doomsayers, Aryan is training himself in dancing, fighting and horse riding.
Immediately after he lapped the Graviera Mr India title Aryan did not waste time to realize his dream and signed a film called ‘Heartbeat’ opposite Pooja Batra. The film is produced by Anshuman Swami and directed by well-known art director Nitish Roy.
In the movie, Aryan plays a young guy who wants to make a career in music. But the kind of music he wants to pursue is different from the kind his father wants him to follow. Eventually he is left with no other option but to leave his home and find his place and identity in the outside world.
A newcomer to the big screen, Aryan already has ample acting experience on the small screen. He has acted in about forty episodes in the teleserial ‘Campus’ directed by the late Sanjeev Bhattacharya. He has also appeared in a music video for Roopkumar Rathod. The video is directed by well-known photographer Jayesh Seth.
It is not that Aryan is not aware of his shortcomings. Being a beginner in the film industry he admits that he has a lot to learn. Moreover he is using theatre acting as a tool for grooming himself into a better actor on the screen. As he candidly reveals: “I want to be a complete actor, ready to do any kind of role. And performing for theatre has given me a lot of confidence. Now I think I can handle various kinds of roles.”
As for future, Aryan has signed a second movie with Anshuman Swami. He will also act in a forthcoming TV serial, which is going to be the desi version of Baywatch.
