Black to open Indian film fest at Stuttgart 27th June 2005

Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee starrer ‘ Black ’ will be the opening film at the second Indian film festival – ‘Bollywood And Beyond’ to be held at Stuttgart, Germany from July 13 to 17.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali 's latest magnum opus, a drama about a deaf, mute and blind girl whose isolation can only be broken by an eccentric teacher, was very well received when it released in the Netherlands before the IIFA weekend.
The “German Star of India”, Germany's only movie award for Indian film, comprising 4,000 euros will be awarded at the festival's final event.
Anna-Marie Schlake of Filmburo, organisers of the event, says that Indian films are making a mark among German audiences who are being drawn into the light, colour, music and the fascinating world of Indian cinema.
She said the film festival offers a large number of content relevant films besides the great productions generally identified with ‘Bollywood’.
Consultant of the festival curator Uma Da Cunha said the organisers also want prints of Bachchan starrers Waqt – A Race Against Time and Aankhen .
