Kicking off a renewed public debate on relevance of Gandhiji’s gospels of truth, non-violence and satyagraha, for long confined to the history tomes gathering dust in shelves of libraries, is Vidhu Vinod Chopra 's Lage Raho Munnabhai , a Bollywood film which seeks to emphasise the continued relevance of Gandhian-philosophy in modern India through the popular characters of Munnabhai ( Sanjay Dutt ) and Circuit ( Arshad Warsi ), made famous by last year's hit Munnabhai MBBS . 
The lovable don Munnabhai, who struck a chord with cinegoers with his remedy of ‘Jadoo ki Jhappi’ in 'Munnabhai MBBS' has warmed its way into the hearts of the cinegoers again in 'Lage Raho Munnabhai, making the Gandhian principles of truth, non-violence and satyagraha the new anthems of a Nation plagued by widespread consumerism and violence. The film seems to have re-introduced the concept of non-violence and Satyagraha among the modern generation. 'Lage Raho Munnabhai's contribution in leading to rediscovery of Gandhi's message by the present generation was pointed out by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his address at a function in Durban on Sunday. "Every generation has rediscovered relevance of Gandhiji's message. I was heartened to see recently that back home in India the most popular movie about a young man's discovery of the universal and timeless relevance of the Mahatma’s message," Singh said at a function to mark the centenary celebrations of Gandhiji's satyagraha.
