'Taare Zameen Par' makes LK Advani cry

Aamir Khan’s film Taare Zameen Par has touched millions of hearts. Even politicians have been deeply moved after watching the film.

At a special screening of 'Taare Zameen Par' in the Capital on Friday, senior BJP leader LK Advani could not hold his tears as he watched the story of a dyslexic child struggling with his inabilities.

"For the first time, I saw Advaniji crying. He has a very fine sense of cinema. I think he used to be a critic. He told me he had seen Lagaan as well when it had come out. So I was very happy to show him the movie (TZP) because I was really keen to know his response," Khan said.

Advani praised Aamir Khan for his latest hit. "Both the director and the script writer must be complimented. In many years, I have not seen such a film. I must express my gratitude to Aamir.

"It's a brilliant film in every respect. In spite of being a difficult topic, it has been presented so well that it touches the heart of the audience," Advani said.

The Bollywood actor, who had earned the wrath of Sangh Parivar for supporting the Narmada Bachao Andolan in Gujarat in 2006, organised the screening of the movie for the veteran leader at Prasar Bharti's Film Division auditorium.

Just two days back, Aamir was also declared the Best Director (along with Shimit Amin ) at Screen Awards. ‘Taare Zameen Par’ walked away with six awards in different major categories.
