But he makes an exception in few cases. Aamir was in Chennai on Monday, on the eve of Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Award presentation. The actor-director is being honoured and presented with a Best Debut Director award for Taare Zameen Par at the function. 
And guess what? Aamir is not turning down this award, unlike what he has done in most cases before. He is humbly accepting it. “Yes, normally I don't accept any award because I think judging which film is better for an award is in my opinion subjective. But I do when an award is given by people who are genuine. I go by the organisation and the people behind the award,” Aamir said at a press conference. The actor-director also joined a group of differently-abled kids and their families for a special screening of ‘Taare Zameen Par’. Speaking about the film, Aamir said: “I fell in love with the script and the story. I wanted to show it to the people of this country and the audience. It sensitised me towards my own kids and I am happy that it has sensitised parents who have children with such problems like dyslexia.” The story of the film is written by Amole Gupte . Aamir also announced that 'Taare Zameen Par' would be dubbed in Tamil as Vaal Natchathiram and in Telugu as Neelimegha Taralu.
