HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Part of proceeds of 'Unforgettable Tour' to light up 100 villages16th Aug 2008 10.00 IST By Agencies Part of the proceeds of the Amitabh Bachchan led 'Unforgettable Tour' will go to lighting up 100 villages in India as part of The Energy Research Institute (TERI) initiative of use of solar lanterns. "The tour proceeds will go to lighting up 100 villages with solar lanterns. After every show, there is an awareness message given by Jaya Bachchan ," Sabbas Joseph, director of Wizcraft said in New York Friday. 
Wizcraft is the organiser of the tour currently underway in different cities of United States. Describing as phenomenal, response the tour has received so far, Sabbas said the prominence of India, the film industry and the Bachchans is very evident from the positive feedback and response received all along. Sabbas said the logistics of the tour is enormous involving 28 tonnes of equipment travelling city-to-city and country-to-country. There are more than 1000 costumes for 70 songs and 35 dancers. In all, there are 130 people travelling. We are a family on the road, he said. Besides, organising a tour overseas involves taxation, visas, handling more than 200 baggages, he said. The tour began on July 18 and by the time it ends in a span of 45 days, we would have covered six countries and performed 13 shows, he said. According to him, the cost of each show is one million USD. The production quality is spectacular and there is no compromise on it.
