Shilpa Shetty turns 34, celebrates birthday with beau

After the busy IPL schedule in South Africa, Shilpa has been holidaying in London and plans to celebrate her birthday today with her boyfriend. Keeping work aside, the Shetty girl has been just relaxing and doing shopping in London.

For an actress who always remained a notch below the top league in Bollywood, Shilpa has rather done well. The ‘Big Brother’ win shot her to worldwide fame and a slew of controversies (like that infamous kiss with Richard Gere) kept her in tabloid headlines. And not to forget that Yoga DVD that has found more takers in the west than at home.


Shilpa makes no bones about admitting that her acting career in Bollywood is on a low. Last seen in swimwear in a song in Dostana , Shilpa has been shooting for Sunny Deol’s film The Man in which she plays a violin player.

Today, Shilpa is taking on a new role in life – that of a businesswoman. She and her beau have already bought a stake in Rajasthan Royals and now she’s set to turn producer soon. She’s just biding her time until the tide of recession ebbs away.

Meanwhile, Shilpa’s and Raj’s parents have been trying to fix the marriage between the two. The duo may tie the knot by the end of 2009 or early next year.
