'Khosla Ka Ghosla' Eminently Watchable

‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ presents a common social problem with a delectable blend of comedy.

Director Dibakar Banerjee in his very first outing has adopted a nice way to explain a common problem prevailing in some metropolises.

The

film revolves around a retired, middle-class man Kamal Kishore Khosla (Anupam Kher) whose sole dream in life is to make a house (his Ghosla) in which he wants to spend the best days of life with his family. Khosla spends all his hard-earned money to buy a plot on which he wishes to build his dream house.

But then what happens is something that Khosla had never imagined even in his wildest dreams : his dream plot is captured by a land shark Khurana (Boman Irani). Shattered, Khosla asks the greedy Khurana to give his land back. But Khurana asks for heavy ransom.

The director has also beautifully shown the relationship of the family, when Khurana’s family joins hands to fight against the injustice. The family adopts a strange way to get the land back.

Although the film deals with a sensitive issue of land encroaching, the director has made an intelligent move by adding the slice of comedy to explain the whole topic, which holds the viewer’s interest in the film.

Will the Khoslas be able to get their land back? Or will the greedy and shrewd Khurana play some other game and make the Khoslas land up in some other problem? Well, for this you have to go and see who wins the war? Honest Khosla or the greedy cheater Khurana?

Dibakar Banerjee’s different script is complemented by the brilliant performances of versatile actors like Anupam Kher and Boman Irani. Their flawless acting adds to the quality of the film.

Other actors like Parvin Dabas, Tara Sharma have also done justice to their characters. Ranvir Shorey is once again awesome and suits the character of an outspoken, good-for-nothing young son of Khurana’s family.

However, a movie like ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ leaves a little scope for music. Still the promotional video song ‘Chak De Phattey’ surely is a good Punjabi foot-tapping number.

On the whole, ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ doesn’t disappoint and will be Paisa Vasool for the audience.
