She is one among the handful of singers who has been able to retain her position as a classical singer and yet break successfully into popular music. Shubha Mudgal's unique and distinctive voice leaves an indelible impression no matter whether she is singing a classical bandish or something like "Ali More Angana"

After the success of two popular albums "Ab ke Sawan" and "Pyaar Ke Geet" Shubha Mudgal again made her presence felt with "Mann Ki Manjeree"-- an album dedicated to new age woman and her aspirations. The album is a platform that highlights the unexplored talent of folk singers like Rukmabai and Diwaliben.

Despite being trained in Hindustani classical music Shubha Mudgal harbors perpetual curiosity for other kinds of music. That�s what led to her occasional experimentation with other genres of music like Samba, Blues, Jazz, Rock and Folk. Trained under illustrious gurus such as Pt Kumar Gandharva, Pt Ram Ashreya, Pt Vinay Chandra Maudgalya and Naina Devi, Shubha Mudgal is the exponent of the Gwaliar Gharana. She has even composed for Hollywood movies, scored music for documentaries, telefilms, ballet and has a portfolio bursting with success.
